Mt. Zion Congregational Church UCC

an inspirational, intelligent, and Spirit-filled ministry

A NEW VISION FOR A NEW DAY

I am so excited today to embark on our New Vision of Pastoral Care. This new way of reaching out in love to our members will enable us to be connected as a church family as never before. Our goal is to be in communication with all of our members on a weekly basis. I ask for your patience as we work out the bugs in our new system, as we strive better serve you and your needs. Each member of Mt. Zion has been assigned a Minister of Pastoral Care (MPC). Your MPC is to be your personal link to the Christian care and nurture of the church. They will be there for you to offer the assistance and presence of your church family in times of joy, in times of sorrow, in times of trouble and in times of need. Additionally, they will communicate with you on a weekly basis to express God’s love and concern for you.

As a family, and particularly as the family of God, it is of the utmost importance to me that no member of this family is ever neglected or has needs that go unnoticed or unattended. Please help us to love and serve you better by welcoming your new Minister of Pastoral Care into your support system.  There are four Care Shepherds working with the MPCs to assist them as they have needs. They are Deacon George Ellis, Deacon Yvonne Allen, Deacon Sharon Mackel and Minister Cheryl Lindsay. There will be regular communication between the Ministers of Pastoral Care, the Care Shepherds and me to ensure the smooth and effective operation of this important and exciting new venture in ministry.  Our desire is simply to love and serve God and God’s people more.

I look forward to this new work with great joy and anticipation.

With the love of Christ,

Rev. Paul
